I moved to Florida in 1996 and opened a Volpe Salon in Bradenton, which is still up and running today. I made the decision to move to Venice and there, again, started a salon with just myself and one other Nail Technician. That salon rapidly grew from Two Nail Technicians to Six Technicians, Two Hair Stylists, an Esthetician, a Massage Therapist, a Body Wrapper and Two Pedicure Stations. I owned this salon 7 years before deciding it was time to sell. I have since gone on to procure Certification in the Art of Permanent Makeup and Eyelash Extension, helping woman to feel good about themselves. My favorite Permanent Makeup client is the one who has had the traumatic experience of Chemotherapy and lost their hair and eyebrows. My gratification comes when the client looks in the mirror and smiles, seeing their womanhood restored and their self-confidence and self-esteem boosted. That’s what this business is all about, THEM, not ME.
